Flip4Mac updated their Windows Media Components for QuickTime today. They now offer support for new WMV formats as far as I’ve read. I must admit I’ve had limited success with their product so far and wasn’t impressed with the way they answer posts on their support discussion site :-\

Fli4Mac a mis ses Codecs Windows Media aujourd’hui. La nouvelle version offre le support pour de nouveau formats WMV d’après ce que j’ai pu en lire. Je dois avouer que juste là j’ai eu un succès limité avec leurs produits et que je ne suis pas favorablement impressionné par la façon dont ils répondent sur leur site de Support/discussion.

  1. Which would you say is the lesser of two evils, for someone who just wants to be able to play WMV3 files – WMP, or the Flip4Mac codec?

  2. Honestly I wonder. A lot of people have reported problems with the Flip4Mac codecs as well. You can still install it as a demo. It’ll play the first half of the files and you’ll be able to make up your mind as to whether buying a license is wirth it or not. One of the big advantages with their codec (when they work) is that you can play in QT player: better interface, better resolution…
