Alea jacta Ouest

This year, Microsoft invited me to attend MacWorld. I’ve spent quite some time since the beginning of MacWorld at the MS booth and wanted to share a few pictures and information I gathered.

• It’s now official: a new update for Entourage 2004 will come out in March. It will bring Spotlight and Sync Service support for Tiger users.
• VPC does not run on the MacIntel. Not even through Rosetta!!
• MS officially committed to bring new software to the Mac for another 5 years. I personally had no doubt that this would be the case since the MacBU is bringing money in the bank for MS and that’s usually what matters to big companies like MS. At least it’s nice to hear it

Cette année, Microsoft m’a invité à assister à MacWorld. J’ai passé pas mal de temps à leur stand depuis le début de MacWorld et voici certaines des informations que j’ai pu récolter:

• C’est maintenant officiel: une mise à jour d’Entourage sera disponible en Mars avec support de Spotlight et des Sync Services de Tiger.
• VPC ne fonctionne pas sur les MacIntels. Pas même par Rosetta !!
• MS s’est officiellement engagéà développer des logiciels pour Mac pour au moins 5 ans. Ça ne m’a pas surpris plus que ça, puisque la MacBU fait rentrer des sous dans les caisses et que pour ces sociétés comme MS c’est ce qui compte à la fin. Enfin ça ne fait pas de mal de le voir confirmé
