Microsoft Office Open XML Word Converter (Beta)

Yeah!!! It’s out!!! Microsoft released today the beta version of the Microsoft Office Open XML File Format Converter for Mac. It only does Word right now, but it’s a good start. Ça y est !!! Il est sorti !!! Microsoft a mis en ligne la version bêta de son convertisseur Open XML pour Mac (en anglais pour l’instant). Il n’y a que Word qui soit supporté pour l’instant, mais c’est un bon début.

Expression Media (aka iView Multimedia)

A little while ago now, MS bought iView. The development went on and they recently released the application under a new name (Expression Media) as part of the Expression suite of software. Bad bad Silverlight

I mentioned in my previous post what Silverlight could achieve for us Mac users. Silverlight is the new name of something that came up a few months ago (in beta as well) under the name WPFe. It looks like the people in charge of this project at MS made a slight mistake with the new change of name :-> The installer doesn’t look for a previous install under the WPFe name and installs itself in addition to the old plug-in. Silverlight demo

Cheryl Wise mentioned today that the Mix website had a nice demo of the new MS Silverlight plugin running on a Mac on their site. You can grab the video on the Mix site (WMV).
